    The i-STAT EG7+ cartridge combines blood gas analysis with key electrolytes, ionized calcium, and hematocrit in a single test that delivers results in approximately two minutes. The cartridge directly measures sodium, potassium, ionized calcium, hematocrit, pH, PO2, and PCO2, with hemoglobin, TCO2, HCO3, base excess, and sO2 calculated.     Intended use

    Intended for use in the in vitro quantification of Sodium, Potassium, Ionized Calcium, Hematocrit, pH, oxygen partial pressure, and carbon dioxide partial pressure in arterial or venous whole blood. Also for Sodium, Hematocrit, pH, PO2, and PCO2 in capillary whole blood.


    Storage and handling

    Cartridges should be stored refrigerated at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius. Once removed from refrigeration, cartridges can be held at room temperature (18 to 30 degrees Celsius) for up to 14 days. Allow cartridges to equilibrate to room temperature before use. Do not freeze or expose to temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius.


    Frequently Asked Questions

    The EG7+ includes ionized calcium in addition to everything on the EG6+. If ionized calcium is part of your clinical assessment (common in cardiac, surgical, and transfusion settings), the EG7+ provides that data without needing a separate cartridge.

    The CG8+ adds glucose to the EG7+ analyte menu. If you need glucose as part of the same test, go with the CG8+. If glucose is not needed (or you are testing it separately), the EG7+ covers the rest.

    Yes, but with a reduced analyte menu. Capillary blood supports sodium, hematocrit, pH, PO2, and PCO2. Potassium and ionized calcium require arterial or venous samples.
