About the Siemens Dimension EXL 200 Integrated Chemistry System
The Dimension EXL 200 is a random-access integrated chemistry and immunoassay analyzer designed for small to mid-sized laboratories and STAT operations. It combines clinical chemistry, electrolytes (via its Indirect Measurement Technology, or IMT, module), and immunoassay testing using LOCI Advanced Chemiluminescence Technology in a single compact system. The platform occupies just 1.5 square meters of floor space, requires no external water supply or plumbing modifications, and delivers up to 627 combined tests per hour: 440 photometric chemistry tests, 187 IMT electrolyte tests, and 167 heterogeneous immunoassay tests.
The system holds 47 assays onboard across 44 refrigerated reagent positions and three IMT channels. It uses Siemens Flex reagent cartridges, bar-coded multi-well packs that load directly into the refrigerated compartment with up to 30 days of onboard stability and calibration intervals tracked by software for up to 90 days. The EXL 200 supports serum, plasma, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid samples. It handles tube sizes from 1.0 mL small sample containers and pediatric tubes up to 10 mL standard tubes, with automatic dilution from 1:1.5 to 1:200 and automatic sample integrity (HIL) checks.
