ABOUT THIS PAGE

If you are here, something is going on with your Clinitek Status.

Maybe the Operator's Guide is missing and a new staff member needs to learn the strip testing procedure. Maybe the test table mechanism is jamming or not pulling strips in correctly. Maybe the reflectance reader is giving inconsistent results, the touchscreen is unresponsive, or the printer is not working. Maybe you are seeing Strip Problem errors and cannot tell if it is the strips, the humidity, or the reader. Or maybe the unit is aging and you are comparing repair costs against a refurbished replacement.

Block Scientific is an independent laboratory equipment company with 40+ years of experience. We are not Siemens Healthineers (formerly Bayer Diagnostics) and we are not affiliated with them.

What we are is a company that knows urinalysis platforms, with a Centers of Excellence designation for the Clinitek Status and nationwide support.

PARTS

Clinitek Status Parts Inquiries

The Clinitek Status is a compact benchtop urine analyzer measuring 272 x 171 x 158mm. It uses Multistix reagent strips and Clinitest hCG cassettes in its dual-purpose design. Common replacement needs include the test table mechanism (which pulls strips into the reader), the reflectance optics assembly, the touchscreen display, the built-in thermal printer and paper rolls, and the RS-232/USB connectivity module. The Auto-checks technology automatically identifies strip type and detects humidity exposure, but the reader optics can degrade over time.

Block Scientific can help identify the right component for your Clinitek Status and, in some cases, source it. Our focus is service, refurbishment, and full system support, but we are happy to check availability on specific parts.

SERVICE

Clinitek Status Service and Preventive Maintenance

The Clinitek Status requires minimal routine maintenance. The test table should be cleaned regularly, the reflectance optics should be inspected periodically, and QC should be run at defined intervals using Chek-Stix control strips. The analyzer requires no warm-up or calibration before use. Strip storage conditions matter: humidity exposure degrades test strips and triggers Strip Problem errors, so proper storage and handling are part of the maintenance picture.

Block Scientific offers four service plan tiers.

Clinitek Status Troubleshooting Help

TROUBLESHOOTING

Clinitek Status Troubleshooting Help

Common issues on the Clinitek Status include Strip Problem errors (caused by humidity-exposed strips, incorrect strip positioning, or reader optics contamination), test table jams, inconsistent reflectance readings, touchscreen calibration drift, printer paper feed issues, and connectivity errors when interfaced with data management systems. The Auto-checks feature catches strip identification and humidity problems automatically, but when it rejects strips repeatedly, the root cause needs investigation.

Block Scientific cannot provide repair procedures on this page, but our support team can walk through your symptoms and recommend whether you need new strips, a cleaning procedure, or a service visit.

If your Clinitek Status is out of service, note that in the form and we will prioritize your request.. Downed instruments get priority.

REPLACEMENT

Clinitek Status Refurbished Replacement Systems

When the test table mechanism fails, when the optics degrade, or when you need additional units, a refurbished Clinitek Status from Block Scientific goes through our Centers of Excellence inspection process including optics verification, test table testing, touchscreen calibration, printer function checks, and full strip test runs with QC materials.

Replacing a Clinitek Status with another means no retraining, same strip inventory, and same workflow. Block Scientific offers financing and trade-in credit.

TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

About the Bayer Clinitek Status Urine Chemistry Analyzer

About the Bayer Clinitek Status Urine Chemistry Analyzer

The Clinitek Status is a compact, automated point-of-care urine chemistry analyzer originally manufactured by Bayer Diagnostics and now part of the Siemens Healthineers urinalysis portfolio. It is the only dual-purpose POC analyzer designed for both routine urinalysis strip testing and urine hCG pregnancy testing. The system uses Multistix reagent strips (the most widely used urinalysis strips in the world) and Clinitest hCG cassettes. Results are available in approximately 1 minute with true walkaway convenience.

The analyzer measures 272 x 171 x 158mm and uses reflectance photometry to read color changes on reagent strip pads. It automatically times the reaction, reads the results, and eliminates the subjectivity of visual interpretation. The Auto-checks technology identifies strip type via ID bands and detects humidity-exposed strips. The touchscreen interface guides operators through the testing process. Memory stores up to 200 patient names and 200 test results. Connectivity via RS-232 or USB allows data transfer to printers, computers, or LIS systems.

The Clinitek Status test menu includes albumin, bilirubin, blood (occult), creatinine, glucose, ketone, leukocytes, nitrite, pH, protein, specific gravity, urobilinogen, albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR), protein-to-creatinine ratio, and hCG pregnancy. The Status+ variant added enhanced Auto-checks and connectivity upgrade options to the CLINITEK Status Connect System for centralized data management. The platform evolved from the Bayer Clinitek line including the Clinitek 50 and Clinitek 100.

The Clinitek Status installed base spans physician offices, urgent care clinics, OB/GYN practices, emergency departments, and hospital POC testing programs. Its simplicity, CLIA-waived testing capability, and dual-purpose design keep demand steady for documentation, test strips, QC materials, and replacement units.
