ABOUT THIS PAGE
If you are here, something is going on with your Immulite 2000 XPi.
Maybe the Operator's Manual went missing and a new tech needs to understand the chemiluminescent test unit processing or reagent wedge loading. Maybe the luminometer photomultiplier tube is aging and signal output is declining. Maybe the wash station is not performing bead separation correctly, the incubation carousel is throwing positioning errors, or the substrate pump is dispensing inconsistently. Maybe your Siemens service contract is coming up for renewal and the cost increase is hard to justify. Or maybe you are starting to calculate whether repairing this system still makes sense compared to replacing it.
Block Scientific is an independent laboratory equipment company with 40+ years of experience. We are not Siemens Healthineers and we are not affiliated with them. What we are is a company that knows chemiluminescent immunoassay platforms, with a Centers of Excellence designation for the Immulite 2000 XPi and nationwide service coverage.

PARTS
Immulite 2000 XPi Parts Inquiries
The Immulite 2000 XPi processes up to 200 tests per hour using proprietary test units (reaction vessels containing antibody-coated beads) and reagent wedges. Common replacement needs include the photomultiplier tube (PMT) in the luminometer, substrate pump components, wash station nozzles and tubing, incubation carousel drive mechanisms, the sample handler, reagent wedge carousel components, water supply and waste system parts, and various motors and sensors. The system also requires periodic substrate and water system maintenance.
Block Scientific can help identify the right component for your Immulite 2000 XPi. Our focus is service, refurbishment, and full system support. If the issue involves the PMT or wash station, we can discuss whether repair or replacement makes better financial sense.
SERVICE
Immulite 2000 XPi Service and Preventive Maintenance
The Immulite 2000 XPi requires daily substrate priming, regular wash station cleaning and verification, periodic luminometer background checks, incubation carousel maintenance, water system filter changes, and probe alignment verification. The substrate (chemiluminescent dioxetane phosphate) has specific storage and handling requirements. Test units and reagent wedges should be managed per manufacturer specifications for temperature and expiration.
Block Scientific offers four service plan tiers:

Prepared
Covers low-use clinics with one annual PM, unlimited tech support, parts, labor, and travel.
Protected
Adds one-hour callback, 48-hour onsite response, and two repair calls per year.
Classic
Offers unlimited repair calls.
Proactive
Delivers everything in Classic plus 24-hour onsite response.
All plans come in at up to 30% less than OEM pricing.
If your current Siemens service arrangement is expiring, let us put together a comparison.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Immulite 2000 XPi Troubleshooting Help
Common error categories include luminometer issues (PMT aging, high background counts, weak signal), wash station failures (incomplete bead washing, carryover between tests), substrate pump problems (inconsistent dispensing, air in lines), incubation carousel positioning errors, sample handler jams or probe errors, reagent wedge carousel indexing failures, and water system alerts. QC drift across multiple assays simultaneously often indicates a system-level issue with the substrate, wash, or luminometer rather than individual reagent problems.
Our support team can help narrow the root cause. If your Immulite 2000 XPi is down, note that in the form and we will prioritize your request.
If your instrument is down right now and patient testing is affected, let us know in the form and mark the urgency. Downed instruments get priority.
REPLACEMENT
Immulite 2000 XPi Refurbished Replacement Systems
A refurbished Immulite 2000 XPi from Block Scientific goes through our Centers of Excellence inspection including PMT evaluation, wash station verification, substrate pump testing, carousel mechanism checks, and full assay runs with control materials.
Replacing an Immulite 2000 XPi with another means no retraining, same reagent wedges and test units, same calibrators and controls, and same LIS interface. Block Scientific offers financing and trade-in credit.

TECHNICAL OVERVIEW
About the Siemens DPC Immulite 2000 XPi Immunoassay System
The Immulite 2000 XPi is a continuous random-access immunoassay analyzer using chemiluminescent enzyme immunometric assay (CEIA) technology with a dioxetane phosphate substrate. It processes up to 200 tests per hour with a time to first result of approximately 30 minutes for routine assays and immediate priority for STAT samples. The system supports a broad menu covering thyroid, reproductive endocrinology, growth hormones, adrenal function, tumor markers, cardiac markers, allergy (specific IgE), anemia, diabetes, bone metabolism, and infectious disease.
The analyzer uses a unique test unit system where each reaction vessel contains an antibody-coated polystyrene bead as the solid phase. Reagent wedges hold the labeled antibody or antigen conjugates. After incubation and wash steps to separate bound from unbound material, the chemiluminescent substrate generates light measured by a photomultiplier tube (PMT). The wash station, substrate pump, and PMT are the three critical subsystems that determine overall analytical performance.
The Immulite platform originated with Diagnostic Products Corporation (DPC), which pioneered the bead-based chemiluminescent immunoassay format. DPC was acquired by Siemens in 2006, and the Immulite became part of the Siemens Healthineers immunoassay portfolio alongside the ADVIA Centaur. The Immulite 2000 evolved into the XPi variant with an enhanced sample handler and updated software. The platform has been in production for decades, building one of the largest installed bases in immunoassay diagnostics globally.
The Immulite 2000 XPi installed base spans hospital laboratories, reference labs, specialty labs, and allergy testing centers. Its extensive test menu (especially in allergy-specific IgE), proven chemiluminescent technology, and large global installed base keep demand strong for documentation, reagent wedges, test units, substrate, and refurbished units.
