Intended Use
The DRIยฎ Opiate Calibrator 1 and Calibrator 3 are intended for the calibration of the opiate assay for the detection of opiates in human urine.
Summary and Explanation of the Test
Both Opiate Calibrator 1 and Calibrator 3 are human urine-based and ready-to-use. They are prepared by spiking negative urine with morphine to a concentration of 150 ng/mL and 500 ng/mL, respectively. Many pre-employment drug testing programs have adopted 300 ng/mL as a cutoff concentration for opiates testing to distinguish between โpositiveโ and โnegativeโ samples. When a rough estimate of the opiate concentration is required, a calibration curve can be established with the Negative Calibrator (Catalog No. 0032), Opiate Calibrator 1, Low Calibrator (Catalog No. 0034), Opiate Calibrator 3 and High Calibrator (Catalog No. 0036).
