The RAPIDPoint 500 systems are intended for in vitro diagnostic use and are designed to provide the determination in whole blood for the following parameters: Partial pressure of carbon dioxide, Partial pressure of oxygen, pH, Sodium, Potassium, Ionized calcium, Chloride, Glucose, Total hemoglobin and fractions: FO2Hb, FCOHb, FMetHb, FHHb, Neonatal bilirubin and Lactate. These test systems are intended for use in point-of-care or laboratory settings.

The Siemens RAPIDPoint 500 Measurement Cartridge with Lactate (400 tests) is a consumable designed for the RAPIDPoint 500 Blood Gas System. This cartridge facilitates the measurement of parameters such as pH, pCO₂, pO₂, Na⁺, K⁺, Ca²⁺, Cl⁻, glucose, lactate, total hemoglobin, and neonatal total bilirubin. Each cartridge has a use life of 28 days or a maximum of 400 tests, providing maintenance-free operation for critical care testing.
