Maximize Lab Space with Beckman Access II Immunoassay System

Beckman Access II Immunoassay System

Ideal for small- to medium-sized physician office laboratories, community hospitals and independent references labs, Access II is a powerful and reliable benchtop immunoassay analyzer, featuring a space-saving design, user-friendly features and a complete menu of more than 50 tests. This model manufactured by Beckman Coulter comes with a customer-friendly user interface with color-coded, icon-driven touch screen.

With a throughput of up to 100 tests per hour, this analyzer provides greater control over performance, reliability and speed without sacrificing valuable laboratory space. With one of the smallest footprints in its class, it offers random access for running any combination of samples at any time. With this advanced system, users can achieve greater testing flexibility with the ability to run any combination of samples at any time.

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics recently announced worldwide availability of the Access 2 immunoassay system with enhanced features such as:

  • addition of an internal reagent barcode reader to minimize operating loading errors
  • an upgraded ergonomic workstation for operator comfort
  • improved fluidics tray for operational efficiency
  • a status light bar for notifying operators of instrument status
  • remote monitoring capability and a refreshed look

The new features have been added to improve ease-of-use, workflow efficiencies, system reliability and customer satisfaction. Users can minimize operator loading errors with the analyzer's internal barcode reader. The barcode reader automatically identifies reagent packs upon loading, reducing operator loading errors.

The unit comes complete with comprehensive training and top-tier support needed to get it up and running as quickly as possible. It also features:

  • Proven analytical performance
  • Loading capacity of 60 samples at one time
  • Unique, assay-specific protocols for optimal assay performance
  • Rapid kinetics for improved turnaround time
  • STAT and automatic reflex testing
  • Onboard refrigerated storage of up to 24 assays
  • No dedicated water system requirement, avoiding potential water system costs
  • Random access for running any combination of samples at any time
  • Status bar indicator light for easy visibility of instrument status from across the laboratory

Access II uses liquid, ready-to-use reagent packs that contain everything needed to run an assay in one convenient container. The unit is also equipped with an interlock switch to protect users from injury. When the front panel of the instrument is used, the interlock switch stops the movement of the main pipettor. Other mechanical devices will continue to operate with the front panel open. If the front panel is opened while the system is processing samples, the system may cancel tests.
