Block Scientific Exhibited Successfully at MEDICA 2018

Block Scientific exhibited their lab products successfully at MEDICA, the largest trade fair for the medical sector, held from 12 – 15 November 2018.

MEDICA 2018, the world’s largest trade fair for the medical industry has concluded successfully at Düsseldorf, Germany. Held from 12 – 15 November 2018, the event witnessed the finest selection of advanced technology-aided devices with the latest designs and functionalities. People from all areas of healthcare including experts, physicians, medical device manufacturers and distributors, and decision makers participated in this major event. A global supplier of laboratory equipment based in New York, Block Scientific successfully exhibited at this leading international trade fair. This year, the company showcased innovative products from leading manufacturers at booth no: 3/D35-2, attracting new clients and strengthening relationship with their existing clients.

MEDICA is the world’s largest medical trade fair for medical technology, electromedical equipment, laboratory equipment, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals, which takes place once a year in Dusseldorf, Germany, attracts industry players from across the globe. According to an official press release, the fair has set a new record with 5,273 exhibitors from 66 countries and an international share of more than 80%. The report says that during the four days of the MEDICA 2018 fair, about 120,000 visitors (with approximately two thirds from about 155 countries other than Germany) enjoyed an offer that was more extensive and international than ever before.

Wolfram Diener, the CEO of Messe Düsseldorf since 2018, says, “Nowhere else in the world will you find the entire process chain of innovations for the development, manufacture and marketing of medical devices, products, instruments and high-tech solutions presented in such a seamless manner and broached in hundreds of speeches by renowned experts.” He pointed out that at MEDICA, visitors can see for themselves what is possible with regard to modern outpatient and clinical care as well as gain insight into the areas wherein new processes and care models are being used in a promising way.

Visitors were offered a lot of new information regarding one of the significant trends of all, that is, digital transformation. Horst Giesen, Global Portfolio Director Health & Medical Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf, emphasizes, “Benefits for patients are a more efficient use of medical personnel on the one hand and easier access to specialist know-how on the other, for example when experts from neighboring university hospitals or even from abroad are called in virtually.” MEDICA is also the hotspot for startups from around the world.

The fair focused on topics such as electromedicine / medical technology (approx. 2,500 exhibitors), laboratory technology / diagnostics, physiotherapy / orthopedic technology, commodities and consumables, information and communication technology, medical furniture and specialist furnishings for hospitals and practices.
