Abaxis Piccolo Xpress is a fully automated advanced diagnostic instrument that provides lab-accurate results within minutes for a wide range of clinical chemistry needs.
Piccolo makes the complicated process of obtaining lab-accurate diagnostic results easy, thus improving patient experience. This compact, portable, and automated system allows healthcare providers to perform routine multi-chemistry panels using just 0.1cc of whole blood, serum or plasma. With 30 seconds of hands-on time, this chemistry analyzer completes results in 12 minutes. With faster and accurate test results, not only can clinicians monitor the effects of prescribed medications, they can also provide comprehensive treatment plans with greater efficiency.
With quick results, healthcare providers can diagnose and treat within the span of a single office visit, thereby increasing the efficiency of care, reducing costs, improving patient management and boosting revenues.
The test procedure is quite easy.

No operator intervention is required. The Piccolo Xpress analyzer will store on-board up to 5000 patient and quality control results. The system uses patented reagent discs that contain up to 15 chemistry tests. The single use, disposable disc contains all the chemistry reagents and diluent necessary to perform a complete fixed multi-test panel.
The device comes with a broad diagnostic menu for routine testing, general health screening, and chronic conditions. It employs on-board continuous intelligent Quality Control (iQC®) to monitor the analyzer, reagent reactions and sample to ensure the highest quality and accuracy in results.
With 5 bi-directional USB ports, the analyzer can be connected to peripherals such as a printer, keyboard, barcode scanner, and computer or EMR/LIS system. The controls are analyzed in the same way as the patient samples; the only difference is that the results are stored in a memory separate from the sample results memory.
