Siemens Clinitek Status+ Analyzer for Point-of-Care Urinalysis

Siemens Clinitek Status+

Advanced urinalysis analyzers are now available that can provide accurate results for a wide menu of assays in minutes. The CLINITEK Status+ analyzer is a CLIA-waived, point-of-care urinalysis analyzer that automatically performs and reads tests and provides improved clinical information. The easy-to-use, automated analyzer features new advanced technology to perform automated quality checks on every test for more precise decision making. Designed to read only Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics urine test strips and CLINITEST hCG cassettes, this unit offers in-office test results in about 1 minute.

CLINITEK Status+ analyzer provides automated reading of the Multistix® family of urinalysis tests such as Leukocyte, Nitrite, Protein, Blood, Glucose, Ketone, Bilirubin, Urobilinogen, pH, Specific Gravity, Creatinine, Protein-to-Creatinine Ratio, Albumin and Albumin-to-Creatinine Ratio (ACR). This device also accommodates a cassette for CLINITEST® hCG testing for pregnancy. Albumin-to-creatinine ratio can be automatically calculated with CLINITEK Microalbumin 2 and 9 strips for early detection of kidney disease in patients with diabetes.

This analyzer allows for the automatic detection of strips that may have been affected by excess humidity. This automatic strip identification eliminates the need for operator to enter strip configuration. The unit detects MULTISTIX 10 SG strips that had been compromised by humidity, and prevented potentially erroneous results from being reported. It prevents results from being reported when humidity exposure is detected, thus providing improved clinical information. A white paper published by Siemens on this automatic check feature has reported that approximately 98% of the time, this system would have prevented inaccurate reporting and generated an error message instead of generating a result.

It also features

  • Simple, intuitive touchscreen operation
  • Automatic printed reports, avoiding the need of manual transcription
  • Barcode reading capability to eliminate manual tasks

The analyzer enhances confidence in clinical decisions and respects the environment. It is a small, lightweight, portable device built primarily from plastics and metals that can be recycled almost completely for materials or energy. Nearly 99% of components can be recycled for materials or energy. This urinalysis analyzer is available in leading online lab equipment stores.
