Manufacturer Nova Category Blood Gas Analyzers Model Plus Description The Nova Plus uses a unique combination of optical and electrode technology. The Nova Plus measures, not calculates, pH, pCO2, pO2, SO2%, Hct, Hb, Glu, Na+, K+, and a choice of Ca++ or Cl-. It measures only 12" wide x 15" deep x 15" high yet it has a ten test menu, carries enough on-board reagents to perform 7,500 tests and contains a month’s supply of controls. It is easily transported on a compact cart. The Nova Plus is a completely automated QC system for point-of-care allows on-board controls to be run without operator involvement. Real controls, not electronic simulation, are analyzed automatically either on a preset schedule or on demand. Out-of-range results can be followed by an optional system shut down. A liquid-only calibration system eliminates all gas tanks, regulators, gas lines and humidifiers. A single snap-in reagent pack contains all required blood gas and chemistry reagents plus a self-sealing waste container.The full ten-test menu requires only 100 µL of whole blood and a blood gas panel only 40 µL.
