Helena EDC
automatically scans nearly 99 patient
samples and has sufficient capacity to
store 26,000 patient data on the hard
disk. The test results can be obtained
within minutes and results can be
retrieved at the operator’s
convenience. The device is capable of
scanning any media up to 20 x 20 cm.
Other prominent features of the Helena
EDC are: stores edited and original
patterns and allows either to be
viewed; flexible customized reports
including report title, patient
demographics, up to 16 graphs on a
single report, numerical data,
statistical data, laboratory comments
and interpretive analysis presented in
order of laboratory preference. In
Forced Fraction mode, this instrument
works in such a way that the control
is scanned first and the fraction
positions are stored in memory.
The Helena EDC has a Serum Protein
Diagnostic Program that determines and
prints an interpretation of serum
protein electrophoresis patterns.
Suggestions for additional testing
based on scanned data for fractional
values, total protein value, patient
age and pattern tracing
characteristics are provided.
