Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, a global leader in in-vitro diagnostics, unveiled two of its newest products at the 2014 AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo held in July – the ADVIA Chemistry XPT System and ADVIA Centaur XPT Immunoassay System. These instruments are designed to enhance workflow, support continuous operations and streamline processes to help labs meet ever-increasing workloads quickly, reliably and cost-effectively.
The newest in the company’s portfolio of chemistry and immunoassay instruments for the central laboratory, the ADVIA Chemistry XPT System and ADVIA Centaur XPT Immunoassay System enable continuous and simple operation, facilitate delivery of high quality, rapid results, and work seamlessly with automation in high-volume laboratories. While the ADVIA Centaur XPT is designed to process up to 240 tests per hour, the ADVIA Chemistry XPT is a fast system for the high-volume laboratories with a throughput of up to 2400 tests per hour.
The ADVIA Centaur offers optimal productivity, flexibility and precision for successful workload management. The system uses barcode scanning for samples and reagents. This next generation immunoassay system requires very little maintenance and its user interface features powerful, easy-to-use software with extensive data management capabilities, and intelligent software algorithms. It supports laboratory management of results by automatically providing effective diagnostic testing strategies. This advanced system is relevant in point-of-care in vitro diagnostics, cancer, tissue typing, infectious disease testing, hormones, therapeutic drug level monitoring, and in preventive healthcare.
Both systems feature versatile technology that allows a broad range of testing to assist clinicians in disease screening, diagnosing and monitoring. They are automation-ready and can be connected to Siemens’ Aptio Automation, the company’s latest track-based automation system.
In addition to these new products, the Siemens’ exhibition themed “Test smarter, Run faster”, featured a comprehensive range of value-added services designed to improve workflow, promote multidisciplinary testing, and facilitate easier training.
This year, the AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo were held from July 27-31 at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL. As the world’s largest gathering of clinical lab professionals from around the world, this event was indeed the right platform for the unveiling of Siemens next-generation products.
