SiemensSiemens recently announced that it has joined forces with industry leader Inpeco to build a customized ‘lab of the future’ for Quest Diagnostics in Marlborough, MA. According to the terms of this exclusive contract, Siemens Healthcare and Inpeco will be responsible for automating the new clinical laboratory which will be the first comprehensive automation solution Quest Diagnostics has deployed in one of its major regional laboratories in the United States.

This one-of-a-kind lab of the future is expected to become fully functional in the second quarter of 2015. The new facility will enhance and automate Quest’s entire manual workflow by making it a continuously operating laboratory plant. One of the main features of this automation solution is a 200-meter high-speed track, one of the largest ever built. A state-of-the-art technology-driven process will facilitate sample flow through processing, testing and storage. Other advantages of this innovative lab include
