ChemWell® FusionIntroduced in the 1980s, ELISA (Enzyme Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay) is a non-radioactive technology that allows the development of products in the microplate format. Processing times (testing that begins from biological samples) required for products using ELISA technology can take 3-4 hours. Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (CLIA) detection, which made its appearance in the early 1990s, is based on microplate laminators designed to detect glow-based chemiluminescent reactions. CLIA technology has shortened processing time to 30-45 minutes. Diagnostic companies use CLIA to develop products that provide a sensitive, high throughput, and are an economical alternative to ELISA. With ChemWell® Fusion from Awareness Technology Inc., both ELISA and CLIA assays can be processed on a single platform.

Featuring a unique new design, this chemistry analyzer can run ELISA and CLIA assays together on a single instrument and within a single plate. PC-controlled, ChemWell Fusion features a comprehensive software package that allows the programming of a wide array of glow-luminescent assays and standard colorimetric ELISA tests including hormones, infectious diseases, tumor markers, autoimmune and more. Features that set it apart from other chemistry analyzers include

  • Makes dilutions and pre-dilutions
  • Handles multiple reagents
  • Smart software optimizes throughput while starting tests at intervals to avoid timing conflicts
  • Patented optical system uses PMT (photomultiplier) to detect light signals from Luminescence and from 4 standard wavelengths for Absorbance. The patented scan head checks crosstalk

This affordable automated open system handles up to 27 reagents and pipettes from 2uL to 250uL. It accepts 96-well plates, 12 standard 8-well micro strips, and 8 standard 12-well micro strips. Its probe washes inside and out and washes 8 wells simultaneously.
