Processing times (testing that begins from biological samples) required for products using ELISA technology can take 3-4 hours. Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (CLIA) detection, which made its appearance in the early 1990s, is based on microplate laminators designed to detect glow-based chemiluminescent reactions. CLIA technology has shortened processing time to 30-45 minutes.
