Beckman CoulterBeckman Coulter Life Sciences, a global leader in delivering comprehensive, innovative instrument systems and reagents, has announced the launch of Aquios CL Clinical Flow Cytometer. With its latest offering, Beckman Coulter Life Sciences is all set to transform the use of flow cytometry to perform routine laboratory testing.

Aquios CL Clinical Flow Cytometer is the first authentic ‘LOAD & GO’ cytometry system, available to clinical laboratories. The system helps in improving workflow and reducing backlogs when handling routine lab applications such as immunophenotyping.

In a press release announcing the launch of this product, the vice president and general manager of the Cytometry Business Unit for Beckman Coulter Life Sciences -Mario Koksch, said

The Aquios CL helps deliver operational savings and improve workflow in the routine lab. This ‘LOAD & GO’, fully automated system performs fast and efficient testing for routine applications such as immunophenotyping, freeing up experienced staff for more complex analysis.

With this system, fast and efficient results can be obtained within 20 minutes, with ensuing results at the rate of 25 samples per hour for up to a full 96-well plate. The cap-piercing technology minimizes laboratory staff exposure to biohazards. This fully automated system comes equipped with a 40-tube capacity autoloader, separate single-tube loader for STAT samples. Its software is intuitive – the ‘Smart Track Reagent Monitoring’ monitors reagent use as well as test progress, with barcode tracking, thus reducing manual quality control and reagent logs. If QC fails, the system automatically alerts via text or email messages, whenever immediate intervention is required. This flow cytometer is pending submission and clearance by the US FDA; it is not yet available for in vitro diagnostic use.
