This apparatus with
a throughput capacity of 180 tests per
hour is fully automated to handle a
wide range of assays. Express 550 is
with an advanced multitasking
operating system, which enables to run
48 user programmable tests. In order
to provide one hour of walk away
operation, the equipment has
electrolyte analyzer, 13-reagent tray,
and 40-position sample transport tray
(which are interchangeable with the
FAST 4 (model 664)).
This device provides test results
within ten minutes. The analyzer has
the storage capacity to hold
demographics and results data for up
to 360 patients. Other key features
and capabilities of the Siemens Bayer
Express 550 include direct interface
to the Model 664 FAST 4 Analyzer,
built-in 40-column printer, X-Y
robotic probe, 9" CRT, "IBM-style",
Interim and final patient reports, and
convenient storage of patient data
with 720K floppy disk.
